I have a friend who complained that someone she knew kept asking her to support animal rights petitions on Facebook. (It wasn't me! ) But, she loves her dogs. What about all the other dogs in the world, though? I don't get it, I really don't. Maybe someone will explain, but I guess I still won't get it. You see, when something is wrong, really wrong, we should all act. It doesn't take too much to sign a petition. I reckoned that if I asked ten people to sign the petition, and wrote to them individually, so they knew I really meant it was them I wanted to sign, and asked them to ask ten people they knew, the petition gets there in very little time at all. It adds up really quickly and the numbers snowball.
I want to weep for those animals – and I do, but it does absolutely nothing to help. You have to steel yourself, look the situation in the face, and fight for what is right. So, today, whatever else you do, ask ten people to sign the petition and ask them to find ten more. We don't just love animals, we care enough to fight for them. Go on, it won't take long!
